Can Your Punctured Tyre Be Repaired?
A punctured tyre can only be repaired when the position and extent of the damage, tread depth and internal condition meet accepted repair requirements.
A repair may be possible when:
- The puncture is within the permitted central tread area
- The hole is within the accepted repairable size
- The tyre has sufficient legal tread
- The internal structure remains undamaged
- The sidewall and shoulder are unaffected
- The tyre has not been damaged by driving flat
Mobile Car Puncture Repair
Tyre Network provides mobile puncture inspection and repair across covered areas. The fitter travels to your vehicle with the equipment needed to remove and assess the tyre.
During the appointment, the fitter assesses the tyre to identify the damage and determine whether repair is safe.
Where a repair is appropriate, the tyre is removed from the wheel so its internal condition can be checked. The approved repair is then completed, the tyre is reinflated and the wheel is refitted.
If the puncture cannot be repaired, the fitter explains why and checks whether a suitable replacement can be provided.
How a Mobile Puncture Is Assessed
A puncture should not be repaired solely by looking at the outside of the tyre. Visible damage does not reveal whether the tyre has suffered internal deterioration.
The assessment normally considers:
- The exact puncture position
The size and type of penetration - The internal tyre condition
Evidence of running while underinflated - Sidewall or shoulder damage
- Tread depth
- Existing repairs
- General tyre age and condition
- Wheel and valve condition
A tyre that appears repairable externally may contain internal rubber debris, weakened sidewall material or damage caused by heat and flexing.
For that reason, the fitter must make the final decision after removing and examining the tyre.
Nail or Screw in Your Tyre?
A nail or screw within the central tread area may have caused a repairable puncture, particularly if the tyre has retained some pressure and the vehicle has not been driven while flat.
Removing the object yourself may allow the remaining air to escape rapidly and make it harder to move the vehicle to a suitable working position.
Send your location, registration and tyre size so we can check mobile attendance.
Mobile Slow Puncture Repair
A tyre that repeatedly loses pressure may have a small tread puncture, but that is not the only possible cause.
Tell us how quickly the tyre loses pressure and whether any damage is visible.
The fitter will assess the tyre and visible wheel condition.
Some wheel, valve or sensor problems may require different equipment or additional work and cannot always be resolved as a standard puncture repair.
Mobile Flat Tyre Repair
A completely flat tyre should not be driven on, even for a short journey to a garage.
When a tyre runs without adequate pressure, its sidewalls become trapped and compressed between the wheel and road.
This can cause internal damage that is not visible while the tyre remains fitted.
The fitter will inspect the tyre to determine whether repair remains possible. If it has suffered structural damage, replacement will be required.
Mobile Puncture Repair at Home
Many punctures are discovered when a vehicle is parked at home.
You may notice a flat tyre before leaving, receive a pressure warning or find that one tyre repeatedly needs reinflating.
A mobile fitter can attend your driveway so you do not have to risk driving the vehicle to a tyre garage.
Send your home postcode, vehicle registration, tyre size and a photograph of the affected tyre.
Mobile Tyre Repair at Your Workplace
A puncture discovered at work can be inspected without taking the vehicle to a garage or leaving it overnight.
The vehicle must be parked in a safe area with enough room for the technician to work.
Permission may be needed from your employer, security team or car-park operator.
Send the workplace postcode, registration and tyre size for an availability check.
Roadside Tyre Repair
A mobile fitter may attend a roadside puncture when the vehicle is safely and legally positioned.
We cannot inspect or repair a tyre in a live traffic lane, dangerous hard shoulder or another exposed location.
If you are stranded in an unsafe motorway position, contact the relevant emergency or highway service first.
Mobile tyre assistance may be arranged after the vehicle has been moved to a safe service area, car park or recovery location.
Replacement Tyres Supplied and Fitted
If the puncture cannot be repaired, a suitable replacement tyre may be brought and fitted at your location.
The replacement must meet your vehicle’s required size, load rating and speed rating.
This is why we ask for your complete tyre size when you request puncture repair.
Checking replacement availability in advance can avoid further delay if inspection shows that the damaged tyre is unsafe to repair.
Any replacement option and revised price will be explained before the work proceeds.
Same-Day Mobile Tyre Repair
Same-day mobile puncture assistance may be available depending on your location, current bookings and technician availability.
We provide an appointment window or estimated attendance time before confirming the booking.
Same-day attendance does not mean that every puncture can be repaired.
Replacement may still be required after inspection.
24-Hour Mobile Tyre Repair Requests
Puncture and flat-tyre requests can be made 24 hours a day.
Overnight, weekend and bank-holiday attendance depends on local fitter availability.
We check your location, tyre requirements and available technicians before confirming the call-out, price and estimated arrival time.

CHECK YOUR POSTCODEFrequently Asked Questions
Can you repair my punctured tyre at my location?+
Yes, if the puncture and overall tyre condition meet accepted repair requirements. The tyre must be removed and inspected before repair is confirmed.
Which punctures can be repaired?+
Small punctures within the permitted central tread area may be repairable when the tyre remains structurally sound.
Can a sidewall puncture be repaired?+
No. Punctures, cuts and other damage affecting the sidewall cannot normally be repaired safely.
Can a puncture near the shoulder be repaired?+
Damage affecting the shoulder is generally outside the permitted repair area and normally requires replacement.
Can you repair a completely flat tyre?+
Possibly, but only if it has not suffered internal damage. Driving while flat greatly increases the likelihood that replacement will be required.
Should I remove a nail or screw?+
No. Leave it in place until the tyre is inspected because removing it may cause faster pressure loss.
Can you repair a slow puncture?+
That depends on its cause. Slow pressure loss may come from a tread puncture, valve leak, wheel problem or previous repair.
Can you attend my home?+
Yes. The vehicle should be parked on firm, reasonably level ground with sufficient working space.
Can you attend my workplace?+
Yes, subject to safe access and permission from the site or car-park operator.
Do you offer roadside puncture repair?+
Yes, provided the vehicle is in a safe, legal and accessible position away from moving traffic.
Can you repair a tyre beside a motorway?+
Not in a live lane, dangerous hard shoulder or another exposed location. Have the vehicle moved to a safe position first.
Do you offer same-day mobile puncture repair?+
Same-day attendance may be available depending on your postcode and current technician workload.
Are repair requests accepted 24 hours a day?+
Yes. Actual attendance depends on local fitter availability, particularly overnight and on weekends.
What happens if the tyre cannot be repaired?+
The fitter explains why repair is unsafe and can check an appropriate replacement tyre.
Do I need to provide my tyre size for a repair?+
Yes. It helps identify the tyre and allows replacement availability to be checked in case repair is unsuitable.
What information do you need?+
Send your postcode, contact number, vehicle registration, complete tyre size and details or photographs of the damage.
Can you guarantee a repair from a photograph?+
No. A photograph may help with the initial assessment, but the tyre must be removed and inspected internally.
How quickly can a fitter arrive?+
Arrival depends on your location, traffic and current technician availability. We provide an estimate before dispatch.
Is the price confirmed beforehand?+
The call-out and expected service price are confirmed before attendance. If inspection shows that replacement or additional work is needed, the options and revised price are explained first.
